Role Overview

As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Campbell Technology Advisors, you’ll play a critical role in driving growth across our Sage Intacct Advisory practice. This is a high-impact, outbound-focused sales development position requiring strategy, hustle, and consistency.

The BDR will leverage Salesforce, Outlook, LinkedIn, and cold calling to generate interest, qualify leads, and support the success of our ERP and financial transformation engagements. You’ll be the first point of contact for prospects—positioning our firm as trusted advisors in the modern accounting tech space.

Key Responsibilities

Prospecting & Lead Generation

  • Conduct outbound prospecting via phone, email, and social media (especially LinkedIn).
  • Build targeted account lists and research “greenfield” accounts to uncover key decision-makers.
  • Leverage Salesforce and LinkedIn Sales Navigator to track outreach, engage with CFOs, Controllers, and Finance Leaders.
  • Craft personalized, strategic messaging sequences to warm cold leads.

Pipeline Development

  • Generate new business opportunities through consistent outreach efforts to meet weekly/monthly KPIs.
  • Qualify prospects through discovery conversations to assess fit and readiness for Sage Intacct or related advisory services.
  • Manage and maintain detailed, accurate records in Salesforce for activity, call logs, and lead disposition.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Conduct high-level conversations with senior executives, aligning their pain points with our service capabilities.
  • Work closely with marketing, sales, and advisory teams to fine-tune outreach strategies and ensure smooth lead handoffs.
  • Provide regular feedback on market trends, competitive insights, and prospect pain points to improve messaging and positioning.

Product & Industry Mastery

  • Learn and maintain deep knowledge of Sage Intacct, industry best practices, and adjacent technologies.
  • Stay current on the finance/accounting industry, including the needs of multi-entity, multi-location organizations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (preferred).
  • 2–5 years of relevant outbound sales or SDR/BDR experience, ideally in SaaS, ERP, or financial services.
  • Proven ability to exceed outbound activity goals (calls, emails, LinkedIn messages) and drive pipeline results.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes and a genuine interest in ERP/accounting transformation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, especially when engaging with C-level executives.
  • Comfortable working with tools like Salesforce, Outlook, Excel, and Sales Navigator.
  • Highly coachable, energetic, and motivated by both personal success and team mission.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated resilience and resourcefulness in overcoming objections and breaking through cold leads.
